Mansfield Gangster Crips

The Mansfield Crips (MFC) also known as the Mansfield Gangster Crips (MFGC) are primarily an African-American street gang located in the WestSide district of  Los Angeles, California. They originated in the early 1980’s, and were previously known as the Mansfield Hustlers  around Mansfield Ave, between Venice Blvd and Olympic Blvd. However, by the late 1980’s, the Mansfield Hustlers became officially known as the Mansfield Gangster Crips.

The Mansfield Gangster Crips are one of the most active gangs in the WestSide district of Los Angeles, and falls under the Gangster Crips 3X. The Mansifield Crips share the Western region of Los Angeles, with the Playboy Gangster Crips along with the Venice Shoreline Crips, which are located in the Venice neighborhood of West Los Angeles.

Entertainment & News

On May 18, 2009, American rapper Roderick Burton, better known by his stage name Dolla, who was also affiliated with the Mansfield Crips, was gunned down at the Beverly Center, located at the edge of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, California. Aubrey Louis Berry, who admitted to being the shooter, was detained at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). In 2010, Aubrey Berry was acquitted of all charges.

The Mansfield Gangster Crips, payed homage to the slang rapper, by decorating sidewalks/walls throughout their neighborhood with graffiti that reads Dolla followed by Rest In Peace (R.I.P).

Javaris Crittenton, the American professional basketball player, who originally played for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies as well as the Washington Wizards, was charged with the murder of Jullian Jones, a twenty-two year-old mother of four, on April 22nd, 2013. Javaris Crittenton, allegedly joined the Mansfield Gangster Crips, after signing with the Lakers.

On April 29th, 2015, Javaris Crittenton was sentenced to 23 years in prison and 17 years of probation. The murder charge was dropped after pleading guilty pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter with a weapon and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Terrence Howard, the American actor, who played in films such as “Hustle & Flow” and the “Player’s Club” as well as “Get Rich or Die Tryin,” was affiliated with the Mansfield gang during the 1980s, when they were originally known as the Mansfield Hustlers.

One day, Howard tipped off a member of a rival gang, the School Yard Crips, that another Hustler – “a notorious monster, the physical manifestation of evil” – was coming for him. The good deed earned Howard a beating from his own posse that left him with a black eye and a swollen lip. He thought the worst was over.

A few days later, however, “I’m on Cochran and Olympic and this car pulls up,” recalls Howard, “and four School Yard Crips get out. They pull out three guns and they put them to my head, and someone says, ‘Kill him.'” Luckily, Baby Boy, the man he’d warned, showed up in the nick of time and vouched for him. “If I hadn’t saved his life, I would have lost my life that day,” according to Terrence Howard.

Allies & Rivals

The Mansfield Gangster Crips are allies of the Eight Tray Gangster Crips and the 73 Hustler Crips, and fellow gangs who falls under Gangster Crips. However, one of their fierce rivalry are with the PlayBoy Hustler Crips, another gang who is also under the Gangster Crips card. The feud between the Mansfield Crips and the PlayBoy Crips, was featured on the first episode (Gunned Down) of The Peacemaker; LA Gang War.

The Mansfield Gangster Crips rivalry with the School Yard Crips, is considered one of their oldest feud, and have been bitter enemies since the 1980’s. Other rivals include: Rollin Neighborhood Bloods, Black P Stones, Fruit Town Brims, Marvin Gangster Crips and the 18th Street Gang (Hispanic gang).
