They originated around 155th Street, between 154th Street and 156th Street, from Central Ave to Tajauta Ave. They have been active for over forty years in the city of Compton.
The Compton Varrio 155 are mostly known for committing racial motivated hate crimes against African-American families, who move into their territory. Similar attacks have taken place in Harbor Gateway, Highland Park, Pacoima, San Bernardino, Canoga Park and Wilmington, among other places.
