Wo Hop To

Wo Hop  To (和合桃) is Triad based in Wanchai, HongKong. The name  means “Harmoniously United Association” or “Harmonious Union Plan” and is believed to have actually been founded in 1908 in Sai Ying Pun as a secret political organization in against the Qing Dynasty. They are among  one of the ” 4 Major Groups” (四大黑幫) of Hong Kong, the others being Wo Shing Wo, 14K and Sun Yee On. Wo Hop To concentrates on protection rackets and is associated with the Sun Yee On (新義安) Triad. At the beginning of the 1990s, Wo Hop To extended into the United States, starting in San Francisco, California. The  United States Wo Hop To was led by Peter Chong (莊炳強) also referred to as  “Uncle Chong” and Raymond “Shrimp Boy”Chow (周國祥) ex leader of the  Hop Sing Boys gang. The Wo Hop To had strategize a plan to  regulate all the Asian gangs  in San Francisco and, from there, to spread out into drug distribution  across the country. Wo Hop To ran the Wah Ching gang out of the Bay Location and the Wah Ching relocated to Los Angeles, Ca. The Wah Ching was the only remaining  Chinatown gang  throughout the 1980s. The Hop Sing Boys and Joe Boys were  taken down authorities after the “Golden Dragon massacre“. The Wo Hop  To gang eventually took over Chinatown after murdering the Wah Ching leader Danny Wong in 1991.
