YG 400 or YG (born Keenon Jackson March 9, 1990), is an American rapper/actor from Compton, California. YG is an acronym for “Young Gangster or “Young Gangsta,” which is a ranking structure of Bloods and Piru Gangs. The “400” is a reference to one of the many cliques of the Tree Top Piru, a popular Piru Gang on the West Side in the city of Compton.

DJ Quik and Hi-C, also grow up in this region of Compton, along with Keita Ru and Slim 400. They all have known affiliation ties to the Tree Top Piru street gang, which also contributed to this gang national recognition.   

Entertainment

From 2009 to 2013, YG 400 have released a string of mixtapes, such as 4Fingaz, The Real 4Fingaz, Just Re’d Up and 4Hunnid Degreez. YG 400, gain national recognition after releasing his debut single “Toot It And Boot It” featuring Ty Dolla Sign. The song received heavy rotation (airplay) on commercial radio (especially on Los Angeles, radio stations).

“Toot It and Boot It,” became an instant hit and led to a record deal with Def Jam Recordings. In 2013, YG 400 signed to CTE World, which is a record label based in Atlanta, started by Young Jeezy, who is also an rapper. YG 400 have collaborated with numerous artist’s such as Kurupt, Nipsey Hussle of Rollin 60s Crips and Joe Moses of Ven Ness Gangsters as well as I-Rocc of the West Coast Crips (San Diego).

YG 400, and DJ Mustard (co-founder/friend/producer), started Pushaz Ink (record label). Other popular singles are Toot It and Boot It, and “Pancake” both are singles off The Real 4Fingaz (mixtape). “Bitches Ain’t Shit” featuring Nipsey Hussle and Tyga, is a remake of Dr Dre, “Bitches Ain’t Shit” (original version).
