The Carson WestSide Pirus are primarily a Samoan-American street gang located on the West Side of Carson, California. Their neighborhood is around Figueroa Street, between 220th Street and Carson Street. They originated from the West Side Pirus located in the city of Compton.
The Carson West Side Pirus originated in the early 1980’s, and were one of the first gangs in Carson, to represent Piru outside of Compton, CA. The Carson West Side Piru received media attention after being linked to the Boo Yaa Tribe (Samoan rap group), which have sold over a million records.
Ailles include: West Side Piru (Compton), Center View Piru, ScottsDale Piru, Scotts Park Piru, Kalas Park Piru, Water Front Piru, and all Compton Pirus. Rivals include: 190 Blocc East Coast Crips, Park Village Compton Crips, Stevenson Village Carson Crips, Rollin 20s Long Beach Crips, Sons Of Samoa, Victoria Park Carson Crips, Dodge City Crips, and the Harbor City Crips.
The Carson West Side Pirus are predominantly Samoans/Polynesians (Pacific Islanders), however, there are a number of African-Americans, who are affiliated with the Carson West Side Pirus. The Carson West Side Pirus was engaged in a racial violent feud with Latino gangs such as the Varrio Carson 13 and the Dominguez Varrio 13 as well as the Catskill Street.
