The Compton Varrio 117 (CV119) also known as the Compton Varrio 117th Street or Compton Varrio One One Seven (CV1-1-7) are a small Mexican-American street gang located on the East Side of Compton, California. They formed on 117th Street, between Compton Ave and Wilmigtion Ave. However, this region of Compton is also claimed by the Carver Park Compton Crips, an African-American street gang.
Despite, being on the East Side of Compton they claim South Side (South Side Compton Varrio 117) with their primary clique being the Parmelee Gangsters. During the early 1990’s, they adopted the Sur 13 (Sureno) like many Latino street gangs in the United States, to show their affiation with the Mexican-Mafia (prison gang).
Allies And Rivals
Main rivals of the Compton Varrio 117 are the Carver Park Compton Crips and the Barrio 13, a Latino street gang located on the East Side of South Los Angeles, California. In 2009, a member of the CV117 shot and killed a member of the Carver Park Compton Crips, after argument at a local liquor store. Other rivals include the Compton Varrio 124 and Compton Varrio 132.
