Keyandre Brown, better known by his stage name Kedaru (Key-Da-Ru), also known Kedaru 400 as well as Young Kedaru (commonly spelled Keda Ru) is an American rapper from Compton, California. He gained recognition after signing with Dipset West, which is the West Coast branch of Diplomat Records, a music company started on the East Coast by rappers Cam’ron and Jim Jones. Kedaru, debuted with “400 Interstate” (mixtape) in 2010.
Kedaru is from the West Side of Compton, and is affiliated with the Tree Top Piru (400 Blk/Maple Street) an active street gang. He is also good friends with YG 400 and Slim 400, who are also linked to the Tree Top Piru, street gang. Kedaru originally intended to play professional football (NFL), he played football throughout his school years.
Music Career
However, his dream of playing pro-ball for the National Football League (NFL) was overshadowed by his passion for music. Kedaru started his music career as a member of 5150 (Fifty-One-Fifty), a rap group formed in the 1990s, by Kedaru and four of his family members. In 2010, executives of Diplomat Records, announced the signing of Kedaru, in 2010.
Kedaru have collaborated with a number of notable artist’s such as YG 400 and Compton Menace, formally signed to Black Wallstreet Records. In 2013, Kedaru 400, released a tribute song dedicated to the life and memory of Lil Frogg (Cedar Block Piru), who was killed before his time. He also expressed how he miss his friend Mausberg of Campanella Park Pirus, who was killed during a robbery attempt in 2000.
