The Compton Varrio Tortilla Flats (CVTF) also known as the South Side Compton Varrio Tortilla Flats 13 (CVTF 13) are a long-standing Mexican-American street gang located on the East Side of Compton, California. Their varrio stretches from Rosecrans Ave to Compton Blvd, between Willowbrook Ave and across Alameda Street.
The Compton Varrio Tortilla Flats originated in the early 1960s and have been active for over 40 years. The Compton Varrio Tortilla Flats are named after a 1935 novel “Tortilla Flat” by John Ernst Steinbeck, Jr. They fall under The Mexican Mafia brand known as the Sureños 13. They are allies of The Mexican Mafia and other gangs under the Flats Family Gangs.
