The Tragniew Park Compton Crips (TPCC) are primarily an African-American street gang located on the West Side of Compton, California. Their neighborhood runs from 154th Street to Alondra Blvd, between Central Ave and Clymar Ave. They are named after a popular public park (Tragniew Park), which sits on Central Ave, between Alondra Blvd and 159th Street.
They originated in the 1970’s as the Tragniew Park Crips, and have been active since the 1980’s. The Tragniew Park Crips received national notability, by having connections to MC Eiht (rapper) also known as the lead artist’s of Compton Most Wanted (rap group).
On May 24, 2009, the Tragniew Park Crips made headlines when Dannie Farber, a High School football player (wide receiver) was gunned down inside of a Louisiana Fried Chicken. The restaurant is located on Central Ave and Rosecrans Ave. Which, is considered the borderline for the West Side Pirus, 145 Neighborhood Pirus, and the Campanella Park Pirus.
Dannie Farber was accompanied by his girlfriend, who was also present at the time of the shooting. Police arrested, 21-year-old Arlon Watson, a member of the Tragniew Park Compton Crips, and was sentenced to 80 years in prison. Dannie Farber was only 18 years of age, at the time of his death.
Allies include: Lantana Blocc Compton Crips, Palmer Blocc Compton Crips, and they have an ongoing truce (cease-fire) with the 151 Piru. Rivals include: West Side Piru, Mona Park Compton Crips, Nutty Blocc Compton Crips, Kelly Park Compton Crips, Compton Varrio 155, and the Compton Varrio 70s.
