Biography

Bruce Parish, better known as B-Brazy (also stylized as Bex Brazy), and sometimes referred to as Sweet Daddy or Braze the Daze, was an American rapper from South Los Angeles. He emerged in the early 1990s West Coast rap scene and became widely recognized for his role in Blood-affiliated hip-hop collectives.

B-Brazy was an active member of the Denver Lane Bloods, operating around 109th Street and Figueroa in South Los Angeles. His authenticity, presence, and street-level credibility translated directly into his music, helping him stand out during an era when gang-themed rap was gaining national attention.

Music Career

B-Brazy made his official recording debut on Bangin’ on Wax 2… The Saga Continues (1994), the second album released by Bloods & Crips. His first major video appearance came as the lead artist on the track “Damu Ride,” which further cemented his visibility within the West Coast underground.

He later became a prominent member of Damu Ridas. This Blood-affiliated rap group included Lil Hawk, Big Wy, Redrum 781, Suga Buga (aka Dogg), Peanut 2 (KP), Lil’ Laniak 2, Tip Toe, Pimp D, Spyder (S.P.), and O.G. Mad Eye. Within the group, B-Brazy was often regarded as one of the most charismatic and recognizable voices.

In addition to his group work, B-Brazy appeared on tracks by several West Coast artists, including Mack 10, The Relativez, and Bloody Mary. His aggressive delivery and commanding presence made him a sought-after feature during the late 1990s.

Death

On May 9, 2003, Bruce Parish was ambushed and fatally shot at the Sandman Motel on the 800 block of West Manchester Boulevard in Inglewood, California. Police officers responding to the scene found him unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the age of 28.

Following his death, the city of Inglewood announced a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible. Fellow Damu Ridas affiliate June Dawg later honored him with a tribute song titled “Blood Walk.”
