The Compton Varrio Segundo (CVS), also known as South Side Compton Varrio Segundo (SSCVS) and Compton Varrio 2nderos (CV2) are a Mexican-American is street gang located in the Eastern region of Compton and the Western area in Paramount, California. The Segundo, means second in Spanish, which is a reference to being the second oldest barrio in the city of Compton.
The Compton Varrio Segundo are made up of several smaller cliques such as Los Pachucos, La Mafia and the Los Santos. Their neighborhood stretches from Atlantic Ave in Compton to Orange Street in Paramount, between Compton Blvd/Somerset Blvd and Alondra Ave. The 710 Freeway (Long Beach) and the Los Angeles River acting as their borderline between the two cities.
During the 1980s, members of the Compton Varrio Segundos moved from Compton to Paramount, in an area known as The Sans. This area is also home to the Paramount Varrio San Streets (PVSST), one of the oldest Latino gangs located in the city Paramount.
Allies And Rivals
They mostly feud with other Latino gangs in Compton such as the Compton Varrio Tortilla Flats and Compton Varrio Chicano Gang as well as the Compton Varrio Tokers. They also feud with neighboring African-American street gangs (Bloods and Crips) in Compton such as the Lime Hood Piru, Mob Piru, and the Cross Atlantic Pirus.
Their expansion into Paramount, has created violent conflict between already established gangs such as the Paramount Varrio San Streets and the Paramount Dog Patch along with the Paramount Gundry Blocc Crips, an African-American street gang.
