A barricade situation that prompted law enforcement personnel to set up a large perimeter in Compton on Thursday morning came to an end with multiple people detained, according to authorities.

Deputies responded to the area of East 124th Street and South Mona Boulevard (map) before 7 a.m. to reports of shots fired, an official with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Century Division said.
At least one person was barricaded inside a home, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Video from the scene showed deputies with their guns drawn.
Shortly after, several people came out of the house, including two young children, according to video from the scene.
At least one man was handcuffed, video showed.
Deputies remained on the scene with guns drawn, according to the video. It was not clear at the time whether anyone was still inside the house.
The location was cleared a short time later, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Nader Chahine.
Multiple people were detained, but it was not known if any were taken into custody, sheriff’s Lt. Cal Gallegos said. Detectives remained at the scene and were still investigating, Gallegos said at about 10 a.m.
