Stevenson Village Crips
The Stevenson Village Crips (SVC) also known as the Stevenson Village Carson Crips (SVCC) as well as the Cold Village Dog (CVD) or West Side Village Crips (WSVC), are a street gang located on the West Side of Carson, California. Named after the Stevenson Village housing area, which is situated East of the 91 Freeway around Central Ave and Lysander Dr.
The Cold Village Dog and the 7400 Blocc, are two of the largest cliques of the Stevenson Village Crips. Members of the Stevenson Village Crips are known to sport Seattle Mariners, baseball cap with the letter “S” to represent Stevenson.
Allies & Rivals
In 2007, an explosive war erupted on the streets of Carson, between the Stevenson Village Crips and the 190 East Coast Crips. For instance, On July 15, 2007, 18-year-old Tyrone Taylor, an active member of the 190 East Coast Crips, was shot during a gang fight behind Denny’s in the Carson Plaza (shopping center). Taylor and co-gang members encountered rival gang members of Stevenson Village Crips. However, the brawl turned into a deadly shootout, resulting in a member from both side being shot, but Tyrone Taylor was the only victim to die.
On July 17, 2007, just two days after the shooting death of Tyrone Taylor. The 190 East Coast Crips responded back by killing 16-year-old Reginald Hayes, a known member of the Stevenson Village Crips who was shot multiple times, as he sat in a car. Other rivals include: West Side Piru (Carson), Palmer Blocc Compton Crips, Scotts Park Piru, ScottsDale Piru, Waterfront Piru, and the East Side Pain.
