Ex-con breaks into apartment, bashes three women in heads with a hammer
An ex-con was arrested for slipping through the open window of a Queens apartment and bashing a mother and her two daughters in their heads with a hammer before robbing their home, cops said.
The violence erupted after Lawrence Parsons, 29 — who was released from prison last month after a two-year stint for attempted robbery — crawled into the pad at the Marine Terrace Apartments in Astoria shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday, cops said.
Parsons, who is homeless, quickly smashed the women — Ilene Picota and her daughters Dawn Picota and Miriam Ozzimo — in their heads, breaking their skulls, police said.
Police say the suspect slipped into the Astoria apartment through an unlocked window.

Police say Lawrence Parsons slipped into the Astoria apartment through an unlocked window.
Ozzimo told authorities she felt someone kiss her head after the assault, according to court papers.
The brute then grabbed a laptop, an iPad and a cellphone before he darted out of the home.
Someone managed to call for help and emergency workers arrived a few minutes later.
Parsons allegedly crawled into the Astoria apartment before he smashed three women in the head with a hammer early Sunday.

“It’s scary,” neighbor Paul Delprete told WABC-TV. “It’s really scary, because like I said, this is a quiet neighborhood. But it hasn’t been lately.”
The younger women were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where they were listed in critical condition. The oldest victim was rushed to New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition.
Investigators found an image of the suspect on footage from a surveillance camera and identified Parsons, who sources said knew one of the victims.

Police found him in Brooklyn on Tuesday and arrested him for attempted murder and robbery.
He was ordered held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
