The Street Villains (STV), also known as Street Villains 13 (STV13) and Calle Villanos, are a Mexican-American street gang located in South Los Angeles, California (formerly known as South Central). The use of the number “13” corresponds to the 13th letter of the alphabet, “M,” and is commonly used by Southern California Latino gangs to signify allegiance to the Mexican Mafia, also known as La Eme.
The Street Villains’ neighborhood is located west of the Harbor (110) Freeway and east of Vermont Avenue, between 42nd Street and Vernon Avenue. The gang’s most prominent clique is the 43rd Street Locos (LCS), which should not be confused with the 42nd Street Locos, a separate and independent Latino street gang that also operates on the west side of South Los Angeles.
The Street Villains share portions of their territory with the Rollin’ 40s Neighborhood Crips, one of the largest Crip gangs in South Los Angeles.
Members of the Street Villains are known to congregate in an alley located between West 43rd Street and West 42nd Street near Menlo Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Gang Unit, this alley has been associated with gang-related shootings and frequent graffiti activity.
