The Geer Gang Crips (GGC), also known as the Geer Gangster Crips or the Geer Street Gang, is a street gang based in the West Adams district of South Los Angeles, California. The gang originated around Geer Street and Hauser Boulevard, from which it takes its name. Its claimed territory has been described as extending from West Adams Boulevard to Jefferson Boulevard. Members are known to identify with block-based areas, including the 5500 Blocc, 2100 Blocc, and 2700 Blocc.
History and Activity
During the 1990s, the Geer Gang Crips were reported to be among the more active gangs in the West Adams area. Accounts from that period describe frequent conflicts involving younger members, including incidents at the “Wheels on Wheels” skating rink, located in territory historically associated with the School Yard Crips. Over time, that area has also been associated with the presence of the Rollin’ 60s Crips, one of the larger Crip-affiliated gangs in Los Angeles.
One of the gang’s more recognized cliques is Smiley Blocc, located on Smiley Drive. This clique includes a residential apartment complex that has been identified in various accounts as a gathering point for members. Reports have linked the clique to several gang-related incidents, including confrontations involving law enforcement. The gang has also been referenced in academic literature, including Images of the Street: Planning, Identity and Control in Public Space by Nicholas Fyfe, which discusses interactions between gangs and public space.
Alliances and Rivalries
The Geer Gang Crips have reportedly maintained alliances with nearby Crip-affiliated gangs, including the West Boulevard Crips and the School Yard Crips. However, rivalries have existed with both Blood-affiliated and Crip-affiliated groups, reflecting the complex dynamics of Los Angeles gang relationships.
A major rivalry has been reported with the Neighborhood Rollin’ 20s Bloods, which intensified following the 1993 killing of Michael Terrance Johnson, also known as “Cee Kay.” Additional rivals have included the Crenshaw Mafia Bloods, Black P Stones, Fruit Town Brims, and the Van Ness Gangster Bloods.
Conflicts have also been reported with other Crip sets, including the 83 Eight Tray Gangster Crips, Playboy Gangster Crips, and the Mansfield Gangster Crips. In the mid-2000s, the Geer Gang Crips were reportedly involved in a series of violent confrontations with the 18th Street gang, a large Hispanic street gang operating throughout Los Angeles.

The name “Geer Gang Crips” has also been reported in connection with groups operating in Toledo, Ohio, particularly around Geer Avenue, sometimes referred to locally as “Roc City.” These groups have been described as separate but similarly named entities, with their own local rivalries, including conflicts with the Manor Boyz Bloods, Folk Nation, Maplewood Bloods, Cherrywood Crips, and the Smith Park Mafia Bloods.
