The Mob Piru Gang (MPG) also known as Eastside Mob (ES Mob) or Insane Mob Gang (IMG). They are a primarily African-American Piru street gang located on the East Side of Compton, California. Their neighborhood is east of Long Beach Blvd and south of the 105 Freeway. Around Rosecrans Ave, between N. Bullis Road and Atlantic Avenue. The Mob also dominated the majority of the apartments behind Walmart, formerly known as the Compton Fashion Mall or Compton Swapmeet, now known as a Walmart along Bullis Road. Their cliques consist of 1700, 1800, and the 2000 block. M.O.B. is an acronym for Money Over Bitches, made popular by Tupac “2pac” Shakur.
The Mob Piru obtained notoriety in the 1990s with alleged connections to rap music impresario Suge Knight and Death Row Records. Suge Knight is known for hiring gang members, ex-convicts, and police officers. With connections to the Mob Piru as well as the Lueders Park Pirus, who were hired as security for Death Row Records. Police authorities in Compton, believed Suge Knight, contributed large quantities of high-powered assault rifles to this gang. Their main source of revenue includes drug trafficking, credit card scams, and the distribution of firearms.
Police authorities led a seven-month investigation dubbed “Operation Killen Court,” which resulted in twenty-four Mob Piru gang members have been arrested and more than 18 guns have been seized. Authorities contend that the Mob Piru gang has terrorized the neighborhood for years, with buying and selling of drugs, discharging firearms, robbing and assaulting residents and by creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation.

The Mob Pirus and Lueders Park Pirus were once allies and often referred to this alliance as “Lueders Park Mob Piru.” Other allies are the Elm Street Pirus and Holly Hood Pirus. Their rivals are Santana Blocc Compton Crips, Compton Varrio 70, Palm & Oak Gangster Crips, South Side Compton Crips, Neighborhood Compton Crips, Lynwood Neighborhood Crips, Compton Varrio Limas Street, and Compton Varrio 3.
